What Makes an Animal a Bird?

Birds are animals that have got two legs, wings, feathers, and a beak. All birds lay eggs and most can fly. There are many kinds of birds. 

We learned the names of some birds, such as, owl, chicken, peacock, hawk, and eagle. Also we read a story about a mommy bird and how she builds her nest and feeds her chicks. The students started to make their own book about birds this week. Next week they will bring pictures of birds to put on a poster.
